When should you draw from the pile?
Draw blind when the discard offers no clear improvement and you value the option to reject the card.
A blind draw is often sensible when the discard is close to your visible cards or actively bad. You might find a strong replacement, and a poor draw can be discarded while revealing one hidden card.
Also: the nerdy view
Blind drawing is an option with two branches. The card can replace a known or hidden position, or it can be rejected at the cost of advancing a hidden card to visible. Its value therefore depends on both score expectation and round timing.
Near the end, rejecting a poor draw may accidentally trigger the round. Earlier, that same reveal can be useful information.
