Search Skyjo rules
Mid-game?
Settle it, then score it.
Ask a Skyjo question in the words you would use at the table.
Search ordinary questions
You should not need to know the rulebook's terminology. Search understands curated phrases and common alternatives such as:
- three of the same cards
- swap a hidden card
- final player doubles
- horizontal triplet
- draw pile empty
A confident curated match produces a direct answer. The answer is always linked to a full page with context, examples, edition differences and a primary source.
Edition-aware results
The selected edition is applied before ranking results. A search for horizontal row in Classic should explain that only a vertical column is removed. The same search in Action should return the Action rule for complete equal horizontal or vertical rows.
No invented answers
At launch, search uses Laravel Scout, curated synonyms and editorially maintained direct answers. It does not generate rule answers with an AI model. When there is no confident direct answer, it displays ranked pages and a useful no-results route instead of guessing.
Helpful no-results state
When search cannot answer, it should:
- show the closest rule, FAQ and edition pages
- offer a link to the complete rules hub
- record the normalised query without an IP address so editors can spot missing content
Search examples
Can I use the discard on a hidden card?
Yes. In Classic Skyjo, a card taken from the discard pile must replace one card in your layout, and that chosen card may be face down.
Do three matching cards across a row disappear?
Not in Classic. Classic removes three equal cards only when they form a complete vertical column. Skyjo Action also permits qualifying horizontal rows.
