What happens when you reject a drawn card?
Put the drawn card on the discard pile and reveal one face-down card in your own layout.
The reveal is required
Drawing blind does not allow a free pass. When you decide not to place the card, you must turn over one hidden card in your layout.
The revealed card remains in its original position. You cannot move it, swap it with another card or turn it face down again.
You draw a 12 and reject it. Put the 12 face up on the discard pile. Then choose one hidden position and reveal it. The next player may now take the 12, although they are unlikely to unless it serves a matching plan or another edition effect.
Strategic consequence
Rejecting a poor draw moves your layout closer to ending the round. That can be helpful when your score is strong and dangerous when it is not.
Drawing blind, then rejecting
A sequence. An 11 is drawn from the face-down pile, discarded, and then one of the player's own face-down cards is turned face up.
You draw an 11
Nobody else saw it until now.
You reject it
It goes onto the discard pile, face up.
Now reveal one of yours
Turn any one of your own face-down cards face up. This part is compulsory.
Rejecting the drawn card does not end the turn. You must reveal one of your hidden cards.
