Which two cards should you reveal first?
There is no confirmed best pair of positions; use a consistent spread and avoid treating position as more important than the values revealed.
Avoid the myth
No position is inherently luckier. Do not claim that middle cards contain lower values unless original data supports it.
Reveal two cards in different columns. This spreads information across the layout and avoids committing both visible cards to one potential column before you know their values.
Also: the nerdy view
Before values are known, symmetric card positions are probabilistically equivalent in a well-shuffled deck. Any positional preference comes from the future structure it creates, not from a card being more likely to sit in the centre or corner.
Choosing different columns provides two separate anchors for later matching decisions. That is a practical heuristic, not a proven guaranteed advantage.
