Can you play Skyjo with normal playing cards?
Not exactly. A standard deck does not match Skyjo’s values, negative cards, zero cards or distribution.

You could invent a similar house game with multiple decks and mapped values, but it would not be official Skyjo and would behave differently.
A standard deck has no -2, no -1 and no 0, and it has four suits nobody needs. You can improvise something Skyjo-shaped with index cards and a pen, but a pack of playing cards straight out of the box is not the game.
Calling the substitute identical can mislead players about probability and scoring.
This answer is for Classic Skyjo unless stated otherwise. Action and Junior may use different mechanics, and Voyage follows the original Classic gameplay.
