How scoring works in Skyjo
Add every card still in your layout after completed matching columns have been removed.
Round total
Positive cards add points. Zero adds nothing. Negative cards reduce the total. Removed matching columns are no longer in the layout and therefore score nothing.
Your remaining cards are 12, 7, 5, 2, 1, 0, -1 and -2. The total is 24. If a vertical column of three 7s had been removed before scoring, those cards would contribute zero instead of 21.
Round-ending check
Record who triggered the round. Compare that player's total with every other total. When it is not the single lowest and it is positive, double it before adding the round to the running game total.
Game total
Keep adding round scores. Once any player reaches 100 or more, finish that round and end the game. The lowest cumulative total wins.
Counting a hand correctly
A layout with one removed column and nine remaining cards. Only the cards still in the grid are added; the removed column contributes nothing.
Everything face up
Twelve cards, one column already removed.
Count what is left
12 + 5 − 1 + 7 + 2 + 0 + 1 − 2 + 0 = 24. The three removed 7s add nothing.
Add only the cards still in the grid. A removed column is gone, not zeroed out afterwards.
