When does a game of Skyjo finish?
The game ends after a round in which at least one player reaches 100 points or more.
Complete the round first
Reaching 100 during provisional counting does not stop other players from finishing their final turns. Complete the round, apply any doubling rule and record every score.
Find the winner
The player with the lowest cumulative total wins. The player who crossed 100 does not necessarily lose if another player has an even higher total, although that is uncommon.
Custom games
The scorekeeper may allow a custom target or fixed number of rounds, but those settings should be labelled as custom formats rather than official Classic rules.
Totals before a round are 82, 75 and 91. The round adds 12, 18 and 4, producing 94, 93 and 95. Nobody has reached 100, so another round begins.
When the game finishes
After a round is fully recorded, if any player has reached 100 or more the game ends and the lowest cumulative total wins, which may be a different player.
Sam crosses 100
The round is still finished and recorded in full.
| Player | Round | Counts as |
|---|---|---|
| Rachel | 78 | 78 |
| Eleanor | 89 | 89 |
| Pete | 96 | 96 |
| Sam | 114 | ×2 114 |
Rachel wins on 78
The lowest cumulative total wins, not the last player standing.
| Player | Round | Counts as |
|---|---|---|
| Rachel Ended it | 78 | 78 |
| Eleanor | 89 | 89 |
| Pete | 96 | 96 |
| Sam | 114 | 114 |
Crossing 100 ends the game; it does not lose it for you on its own, and it does not stop the round early.
